Projects

These projects of mine are created to enlighten and to bring awareness to important issues of society. They say a photo is worth a thousand of words so here are their stories. This is our world. Our journey. Our story.

Concussion: Her Story

No one knows when life can take a sudden turn and spiral down hill. Like they all say, don’t judge a book by its cover because you really can’t see what someone has gone through. My artwork tells a story of the life of a once happy and energetic girl. A girl that had a passion for soccer and has been playing soccer all her life. A girl that was a starter and an asset to her team. A center/left defender who was offered a spot on the varsity team when she was a sophomore. A girl that was not afraid to do a header or slide tackle. A girl that was not afraid to play indoor soccer with the guys. Wasn’t afraid to play a little rough.
A girl that has gone through eight concussions from minor to severe. The truth about concussions, they will change your life. Suffering from right brain damage, anxiety, depression, and short-term memory loss. The stress of work and life itself has changed who she is around people. She tells herself she is not normal, but, in reality she is a unique girl that is Strong, Courageous, and Beautiful.

Concussions: Post Trauma

We live in a world where it is frowned upon to give up and call it quits. Coaches push us to the limits not knowing what our true limits are. Yes, without coaches we would never achieved our goals but there are many coaches who don't bring awareness of taking precautions on any type of injury. Did you know "1 in 5 high school athletes will sustain a sports concussion during the season" or "90% of most diagnosed concussions do not involve the loss off consciousness. Long-term damage includes anxiety, confusion, depression, dizziness, headaches, loss of memory, pain, sensitive to light, and vertigo. The damages do not stop there, pills may be prescribed but in reality they just cause the symptoms to worsen. Protect your brain because a brain can't heal itself.

United We Stand, Divided We Fall

With all this hate that is going around in the world, where is the faith in humanity. Where is the love? From local to national, the world will go down in flames if we don't listen to each other opinions and concerns. " To discriminate, only generates hate, and when you hate, you are bound to get irate"- B.E.P.
